Brooch...for men only!

So I made this post about menly brooches and then the weirdest thing happened! My boyfriend asked for a brooch the same day, without seeing my post, and I thought it was the coolest and exciting project I've done in a while. To make him a brooch! Truth to be told, I would have loved to have a vintage piece and incorporate it in my project, but I skipped treasure hunting this past month so I had to improvise something. My concept was: something fun but not too childish, something delicate but not too feminine, something simple but not boring.

Perfect solution

Yes, I found it. I;m talking about the matching shoes and bag trend. Maybe you think it's a little bit too serious for our generation, we're used to playing with clothes. So here's how it goes: buy a multi-tone bag. You can choose 2 colours, three, or how many do you want and match it with at least 2 pairs of shoes. Plus, the multi tone bags are a must these season, I'm sure you know this already, they're great for colour block outfits! But about colour blocking, speak to you soon! Untitled by Niska featuring fendi handbags Fendi handbag fendi peek a boo fendi peek a boo Of course, the master of multi-tone bags is the fendi peek-a-boo, one of my all time favourite bags in the history. I think I want one more than I want a chanel. Untitled by Niska featuring yves saint laurent handbags Tote bag , $76 Yves saint laurent handbag , 1,410 GBP Louis vuitton bag

Some of the items I picked are also vintage, which makes them so perfect for me.  I'm loving these so much, to see how architecture meets fashion and how great the results are! It might be my favourite subject right now. Hope you'll find inspiration in this post, I know I'll be treasure finding for art deco inspired earring this weekend.  ♥ R

facehunting

so I've been watching facehunter 's blog, since I haven't done it in a while (too much sartorialist influence from a certain person :D) and it was fun and here are my thoughts: -it's kindda refreshing to see some people with dust on their shoes, with imperfect hair and nails, with no make up on.. I mean, sartorialist is great -GREAT- but don;t you ever get the feeling that people on his blog look so flawless, like they just came out from a magazine cover? It's his trademark and congrats for that, he does such a good- GOOD- job but from time to time I just like to see some imperfections! -I got tons of ideas for my accesories line, people on his website really wear accesories, no doubt about it!! -I found the best ways to wear dark blue-navy- my favourite colour ever next to grey; -I felt the urge to go searching lost treasuries at fairs and second hand shops! -I made a pact to myself to wear a different bag every day. Until I'll run out of bags; -I realis...

trend

I saw it on Giovanna Battaglia and I instantly remembered that this is a fashion rule that my mother hardly breaks. I remember that she had a thing for shoes, in the '80 she owned a pretty impressive collection: pink, yellow, all tones of brown etc but the hardest part came when she started her search for matching bags. Imagine finding a nice pink bag! Not only that she was matching her bag with shoes but also with belt and clips earrings. How cool was  that??? Anyway, she  was waiting for the trend to come back and I think that her wish may come true. I must admit that I never match my shoes with my bag, but now I think I 'm falling for this. Seeing Giovanna looking so stylish and remebering my mother's wardrobe, made me a "matching shoes and bag" enthusiast. What do you say? Thumbs up or down? Untitled by Niska featuring platform high heels Let my know what do you think about this. I'm starting the project to find bags that match my shoes and vicever...

it's a menly thing

I've always wondered how a brooch would look on a man's outfit. I was imagining forms and colours and in theory sounded very good. This is actually a pin, and it's prada (fancy, right?). And it looks amazing. My opinion. I say men should go for it. Even better if it's vintage or has an emotional feeling attached, like the one from John Gerhardt. I got the picture from the coveteur . ♥ R
The second I published the article with the help needed (which was about 10 minutes ago) I got help(which was about 9 minutes ago). How weird is that? I'm gonna go make some more coffee and maybe something to eat 'cause I'll be staying all day long in front of my laptop, getting help. You don't know what the hell I'm talking about, right? I know it's my second recommendation for the day, but trust me, It's so worth it! Click here . ♥ R
Long story short, of course you don't know what I'm talking about, this is the first row of this article, I actually erased it twice. It sounded extremely childish. Blah. I just wanted you to invite to take a visit to a lovely blog: a romanian one+ a fashion one which is rare. :)) I saw the author to a fair and I've been watching her blog, enjoying the pictures and especialy the styling, for a while and I thought I should share. Love, love how she mixes vintage with new. A skill that I've lost a while ago and can't seem able to bring it back. Click here for the link! Is this happening to you too? Have you been waiting spring for 3 months now, counting the days and hours and now that it's finally here, you just wave at her from your window, too lazy to go out and taste it? I dreamed all winter long of pastel outfits, romantic dresses, flats and sandals and lots of accesories and now my mind is blank, I keep putting the boots and the oversized jacket and go...

There are many reasons why I'm a Kanye West fan. First comes the music and then comes the fashion. You cannot help of loving his way of loving clothes and fashion.  Here he is at the Vivienne Westwood fall 2011 collection.

My spring picks

Metalic Flats

I wanted them for a while now, but maybe only in theory, I didn't exactly had ideas to combine them with items in my wardrobe. But now I think I'm starting a new obsession with finding the best metalic flats that are out there. Of course I'm not into the camel toe (NOT AT ALL, actually) but I'm very into the nice accent that brings to a neutral tone look. Plus, I just added to my wishlist a metalic bag, also. :D Untitled by Niska on Polyvore.com   Here are some of the options we have, some expensive (see lanvin and mulberry) some affordable.. Hope I will make an update soon showing you my new metalic babies. (I just have to buy the first). Pictures from sartorialist, the mix made by me using polyvore. ♥ R

perfect moment

I can't tell you why I love this picture so much, but I do. When I saw it, I thought : pure fashion. exactly how I used to title my blog. So it belongs here... I got it from: theblondesalad.com ♥ R

oscar

I'm sure you've seen the dresses at the oscar, this year. I loved many of them, but two of them really had an impact on me. Cate Blanchett-Givenchy Couture I can't explain how much I love and admire this work of art!   Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein Collection

brooch brooch brooch

My new obssesion! So I was in this permanent search of my style and how to define it. The mistery has been solved since I've discovered my passion to combine things that apparently don't match. In combining brooches, I mean, I still like to wear simple clothes. My collection of accesories is increasing with the speed of light, especially since I'm making some, (piece of advice: don't start to make jewelry or clothes if you don't have a ridicolous closet at home), I started with the earrings, then with necklaces and now with brooches. And you know what? I have great friends that help me with increasing my collection. Here is part of my collection, part of them vintage from my mother, part of them made by me but I want to show you my new achievements: The brooch in the front, with a nice looking lady painted is from murmu and I like to wear it with a total black look. The girl is so stylish, and it reminds me of the miu-miu runaway models from last year, with their...
